Working Principle

<p>The lead charge material (scrap batteries, lead ingots, or lead-bearing materials) is loaded into the cylindrical furnace chamber through a charging door. The furnace is then sealed and the burner system (oil or gas-fired) heats the charge while the furnace body rotates slowly on its horizontal axis. The rotation ensures all charge material is continuously exposed to the heat source, promoting uniform melting and preventing localized overheating. Molten lead collects at the bottom and is tapped through a tap hole. Slag and dross float on top and are removed separately. The rotation also aids in slag separation and metal recovery.</p>
