Biomass Pellet Fix Aluminium Melting Furnace

Biomass Pellet Fix Aluminium Melting Furnace

Industrial Furnaces

Cost-effective fixed-type aluminium melting furnace powered by biomass pellets, offering 300kg per cycle capacity with significant fuel savings over traditional oil and gas-fired furnaces.

Working Principle

The furnace operates by combusting biomass pellets in a dedicated combustion chamber adjacent to or beneath the crucible. The pellets are fed into the combustion chamber where they undergo gasification and complete combustion at controlled air-fuel ratios. The hot combustion gases circulate around the graphite or silicon carbide crucible, transferring heat to the aluminium charge. The fixed crucible design allows for continuous charging and metal extraction using ladles. Temperature is monitored through thermocouples and controlled by regulating the pellet feed rate and air supply through blowers.

Frequently Asked Questions

This furnace has a melting capacity of 300kg per cycle, making it suitable for small to medium foundry operations.

You can expect 40-50% fuel cost savings compared to conventional oil or gas-fired furnaces, as biomass pellets are significantly cheaper per unit of heat energy.

The furnace uses biomass pellets made from agricultural waste, wood chips, or similar biomass materials as its primary fuel source.

Yes, the fixed-type design allows for continuous charging and melting operations. You can keep adding aluminium to the crucible while extracting molten metal using ladles.

Regular maintenance includes refractory lining inspection, crucible replacement (based on usage), blower servicing, and ash removal from the combustion chamber. Overall maintenance requirements are minimal compared to gas-fired furnaces.
